IMMUNE BOOSTING BLACK ELDERBERRY = ROSE TRUFFLES

There's nothing like combining immune-boosting botanicals with the delicious notes of chocolate. Here we incorporate our BLACK ELDERBERRY Elixir into fantastically refined cocoa for a mood-lifting effect, along with the delicate and heart-opening notes of rose. Our super healthy (and vegan!) Elderberry Elixir contains Skulcap (Goldwort)* for its antiviral effects, the lung support of Cordyceps, the anti-inflammatory power of Reishi, the flu and virus-fighting Maitake and Shiitake, and of course the immune-boosting Elderberries.

*Skulcap (Goldwort). Skulcap belongs to the lip flower family together with basil, mint, rosemary, sage, marjoram, oregano and other well-known culinary herbs.

The main active ingredients of skullcap are:

  • Flavonoids, such as scutellarin and wogonin
  • Bitter iridoids, mainly catalpol
  • Tannins
  • Volatile oils

Below we have a delicious recipe with raw and organic cacao (70%) and elderberry syrup ( BLACK ELDERBERRY Elixir ). Enjoy and be super healthy for you!

  • Preparation time: 10 minutes
  • Time: 2 to 3 hours in the refrigerator
  • Servings: 14
  • Level: Easy

Ingredients:

Preparation/instructions:

  • Start by chopping the 70% chocolate bar. This step is very important and is the most important step in perfecting this recipe. You can grate the chocolate if you wish. The finer you chop or grate the chocolate, the better.
  • Place the chocolate and elderberry elixir in a small heatproof bowl (about 1 to 1.5 liters capacity is perfect).
  • Add the coconut cream and maple syrup to a small saucepan. Bring to almost the boil over a low heat, as soon as you see a few large bubbles forming, turn off the heat and immediately pour over the chocolate and elderberry elixir in the 1 to 1.5 liter heatproof bowl. Let sit for exactly 2 minutes and then use a whisk to quickly stir it together. The chocolate will melt and a smooth, silky ganache will form. Add the rose powder and mix well again with the whisk.
  • Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours, or until firm enough, then roll the mixture into balls about 1 tablespoon in size. If you want the balls to be the same size, use 20 grams each (this makes 14 balls of 20 grams).

Our Vegan Black Elderberry Syrup contains powerful antiviral agents that protect your lungs and are good for your immune system. It contains Reishi, Cordyceps, Shiitake, Maitake and Skullcap Baikal! So think of this as a super concentrate that can be added to any elixir, to your food, or as a functional dessert of your choice (like this one) Happy eating!
