Manuka honey has been used in wound care for centuries and, thanks to its anti-microbial and other healing properties, can be used externally to treat minor skin wounds and burns. It can be used as a mask for skin problems such as dehydration, acne or eczema.
Using this honey as a mask on the skin for at least 30 minutes will deactivate the bacterial wall, making it perfect for skin with inflammation and a weakened immune system. Warm the honey slightly by heating it in a bain-marie, this makes it easier to apply as a mask. Honey should never get warmer than 40 degrees.
MNZ only produces raw, monofloral MGO Manuka Honey that is classified based on the levels of Methylglyoxal (MGO) present in mg/kg.
Scientists have shown that Methylglyoxal (MGO) is directly related to the unique, high-quality and natural bioactivity of Manuka Honey.
Manuka Honey has a moderate glycemic index of 54-59 meaning diabetics can still benefit from Manuka Honey for careful blood sugar management.
MGO550+ is equal to UMF15+.
