Palo Santo is a mystical tree that grows near the coast of South America and is related to frankincense, myrrh and copal. In Spanish, the name translates to 'Sacred Wood - Tree of Life'.

Palo Santo is traditionally used to purify bacteria from the air and especially to remove bad energies in spaces. It is also commonly used to relieve colds, flu symptoms, stress, asthma, headaches, anxiety, depression, inflammation, emotional pain and more.

We work with an indigenous family from the Chiclayo region of Northern Peru, who have been stewards of Palo Santo's native habitat for hundreds of years. They ethically harvest naturally fallen trees that have aged at least 3-5 years on the ground, while also replanting the trees in the wild. It is within this aging process that the protective and mystical resins develop. They also work with government agencies in Peru who protect this precious and ancient tree and assist in its reforestation. We would only support the most ethical processing of this tree. We are proud to directly support a family that has been stewards of these lands for generations.

Use a candle, match or lighter to light your Palo Santo stick. At an angle of about 45 degrees, hold the tip down toward the flame. Let it burn for about 30 seconds to 1 minute and then blow out. Use it at your workplace, in your home, in your car, in your bathroom or wherever you want to purify the air. The rich scent will also bring peace and clarity. When you have finished purifying the space you want to purify, place the smoldering stick in a refractory bowl made of metal, glass or clay. The stick will extinguish on its own unless you blow on it, keeping the smoke active. Always be careful and respectful when working with fire.
