Enriched with almond oil, so extra friendly to the skin! Le Chatelard 1802 Savon de Marseille Soaps All soaps are handmade in the workshops of Le Chatelard 1802 in St Auban sur Ouvèze, Provence (France). Due to the pH neutral formula, these soaps do not dry out the skin. They are a source of intense hydration and softness. The soaps are subtly scented with flowers, fruits and other natural ingredients, giving them rich lather that nourishes, moisturizes and smells wonderful.
This 100% natural soap is made in a traditional way by mixing water from the Mediterranean Sea with olive oil, with or without other vegetable oils, sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide.
This mixture is heated in a large kettle for several days, with the mixture being constantly stirred. This gives it plenty of time to 'ripen', after which it is poured into molds to harden further. When the soap is still soft, it is already cut into the correct shape and stamped. The entire process can take up to a month.
